Category (Adding a New Category)

The Add/Edit Category page in the DoBites system is used to define the main sections of the digital menu. Each category represents a group of menu items such as: Beverages, Appetizers, or Main Courses. The system allows control over the display order, mobile/web visibility, category image, and display time settings.

When you click on Category and press Add Category, a pop-up window appears with the following fields:

• Code: A unique identifier for the category in the system (Required).

• Title En: The category name as it appears in the English interface (Required).

• Title Ar: The category name as it appears in the Arabic interface (Required).

• Order By: A number used to sort the category. Lower numbers appear higher in the list.

• Image: Upload an image to visually represent the category in the menu.

• Inactive: If checked, this category will not appear to customers in the menu.

• Start Time: Set the start time for the category to appear (Optional).

• End Time: Set the end time for the category to disappear (Optional).

At the bottom-right corner of the pop-up, you’ll find two options:

• Save: Click to save the new category.
• Close: Exit without saving any changes.
